Guymon Pioneer Days Rodeo getting tough on cancerOklahoma Rodeo contestants are tough. During the May 2, performance of the Guymon Pioneer Days Rodeo at Henry C. Hitch Pioneer Arena, they'll prove it when the annual event hosts Tough Enough to Wear Pink night. The Tough Enough to Wear Pink initiative has been part of ProRodeo for several years, and it's a way to raise funds and awareness in the fight against cancer. "Nearly everyone has had their lives touched by cancer, and by having our Tough Enough to Wear Pink night during the first performance of the rodeo, we hope that we can do just a little bit to help combat the disease," said Ken Stonecipher, a member of the Pioneer Days Rodeo volunteer committee and one of the announcers at this year's event. There will be four performances of the Pioneer Days Rodeo, with additional shows starting at 2 p.m., and 7:30 p.m., May 3, and 2 p.m., May 4. But the May 2 event will be a colorful display of cowboys, cowgirls and fans showing their support for the battle to stop cancer in its tracks. "It's a great deal for rodeo, and a wonderful thing for this community," Stonecipher said.
