Goldthwaite sheep sales

The Mills County Commission Co., Goldthwaite, Texas, reported receipts of 2,153 head of sheep and goats, compared to 1,649 head last week and 3,814 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, Amarillo, Texas.

Compared to last week, stocker and feeder lambs were not tested. Slaughter lambs were steady. Stocker and feeder goats were not tested. Slaughter goats were $5 to $7 higher. Demand was good. The supply included around 50% sheep including nearly 400 lambs. Prices per CWT unless specified.

Stock and feeder: Stock pairs, 27.50 per head. Dorper ewes, 70 to 100 lbs., 56.00 to 76.00. Barbados bucks, 100.00 to 200.00 per head.

Slaughter lambs: Choice 1 to 3, 40 to 85 lbs., 115.00 to 128.00. Slaughter ewes, Utility 1 to 3, Medium fleshy, 100 to 125 lbs., 25.00 to 35.00.

Slaughter goats: Kids, Selection 1, 40 to 60 lbs., 125.00 to 139.00, few to 144.50; 60 to 80 lbs., 130.00 to 145.00. Selection 2, 40 to 60 lbs., 115.00 to 125.00. Nannies, Selection 1, 80 to 130 lbs., 30.00 to 45.00. Billies, few 90 to 200 lbs., 70.00 to 80.00. Muttons, Selection 1, 90 to 110 lbs., 90.00 to 100.00.

Replacement goats: Nannies, Selection 1, 70 to 130 lbs., 40.00 to 70.00. Pairs. few 29.00 per head.
