Dodge City cattle sales report

Receipts at Dodge City Winter Livestock Inc., Dodge City, Kan., reported receipts of 3,979 head, April 9, compared to 4,296 head, last week and 3,245 head, last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan.

Compared with last week, steers 350 to 700 pounds were steady to weak and heifers 350 to 700 pounds were weak to %2 lower on light offering. Steers 700 to 800 pounds were $3 to $4 higher, 800 to 950 pounds were $1 to $4 higher. Heifers 700 to 850 pounds were $1 to $2 higher. Slaughter cows were steady to $1 lower. Slaughter bulls were steady. Trade and demand were moderate to good. Receipts included 84% over 600 lbs.,, 13% under 600 pounds and 3% slaughter cows and bulls with 135 early. The feeder supply consisted of 53% steers and 47% heifers.

Pairs: Medium and large frame 1, 6 pair 1295 lbs., young with 200-lb. plus calves 1400.00.
