Colorado cattle sales report

The Colorado Auction Feeder Cattle Summary, Greeley, Colo., reported receipts of 3,306 head April 11, compared to 7,033 head last week and 5,410 head last year, according to the USDA-Colorado Department of Agriculture Market News, Greeley, Colo.

Compared to last week, steer and heifer calves sold steady to $2 lower, with full decline in the beginning of the week. Yearling feeder steers sold mostly steady. Feeder heifers sold steady to $2 lower on a limited test. Demand was moderate for all classes. Greatest interest was in a limited supply of grass ready steers. Sale receipts across the state continue to lighten as we approach summer. The supply was made up of 77% feeder steers, balance feeder heifers, with about 55% of total feeder supply over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 450 to 500 lbs., 119.00 to 126.50; 500 to 550 lbs., 119.50 to 126.00; 560 to 590 lbs., 114.50 to 117.00; 600 to 650 lbs., 108.00 to 115.50; 650 to 700 lbs., 100.00 to 105.00; 710 to 730 lbs., 96.00 to 103.00; 750 to 800 lbs., 91.00 to 95.75; 870 to 900 lbs., 92.00 to 93.25; 900 lbs., 93.25. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 450 to 500 lbs., 110.00 to 115.50; 510 to 550 lbs., 111.00 to 112.50; 590 to 600 lbs., 105.00; 600 to 640 lbs., 98.50 to 102.50; 650 lbs., 107.00; 700 to 720 lbs., 90.50 to 96.50.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 480 lbs., 114.25; 500 to 550 lbs., 106.00 to 110.00; 550 to 600 lbs., 98.00 to 109.50, mostly 98.00 to 104.00; 610 to 640 lbs., 90.50 to 100.00; 650 to 700 lbs., 92.50 to 94.50; 730 to 740 lbs., 90.75 to 91.75; 750 to 790 lbs., 82.25 to 90.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 340 lbs., 106.00; 390 to 400 lbs., 105.00; 400 to 440 lbs., 103.00 to 105.00; 460 to 500 lbs., 102.00 to 105.00; 500 to 550 lbs., 96.50 to 106.00; 550 to 600 lbs., 93.00 to 96.00; 620 to 650 lbs., 83.50 to 93.50; 670 to 700 lbs., 80.50 to 91.00; 780 to 800 lbs., 83.50 to 85.00; 800 lbs., 81.50.
