Aberdeen cattle sales report

The Hub City Livestock Auction, Aberdeen, S.D., reported receipts of 4,596 head April 16, compared to 4,387 head last week and 6,553 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Compared to last week, feeder steers sold $2 to $3 higher. Heifers sold steady to $2 higher. Demand was good, with a large attendance. Many of the offerings sold in load lots. The offering was composed of 62% steers, 48% heifers, with 92% over 600 pounds.
