34th Annual Southeast Colorado Bull Test sale held April 8

Colorado

The 34th Annual Southeast Colorado Bull Test concluded with the sale of the bulls on April 8, at Winter Livestock in La Junta, Colo. A total of 31 bulls were offered for sale. Overall, the bulls averaged $1,481.25.

A FAR Krugerrand son, owned by Taylor Livestock of Karval, Colo., was the high selling bull, bringing $2,100. Volume buyers included Norman Dorenkamp, Holly, Colorado, who purchased three bulls: a Star Toolbar son and a Star KKHMKS Kannon son, both Polled Herefords offered by Roderick Polled Herefords from Lindon, Colo. Dorenkamp also purchased an Angus bull out of TG Spirit offered by Anetta's Angus, Springfield, Colo.

The second volume buyer was Mark Burk from Raton, N.M. Burk purchased two WCC Dateline Angus bulls offered by Cameron and Ashley Burk, Aguilar, Colo., and a LCB Retail Product Angus son owned by Anetta's Angus, Springfield, Colo.

The staff of the Southeast Colorado Bull Test thanks all of the cooperators who consigned bulls and participated in this year's test. We also wish to thank all of the buyers who attended the sale and especially those who purchased bulls. Finally, we wish to thank Norman and Jean Dorenkamp and the Trail City Livestock crew for their care of the bulls and allowing us to use their facilities again this year.

To all of the producers who receive our reports, we hope you have a successful year and look forward to serving you again next year.
