Tulsa livestock sales reportThe Tulsa Stockyards, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 2,230 head April 7, compared to 1,789 head last week and 1,400 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week, steer calves were $2 to $3 lower, feeder steers were steady to $1 lower. Heifer calves and feeder heifers were $1 to $3 lower. Quality was plain to average with few attractive. Weigh-ups were mostly average along with a few new crop calves coming to auction. Receipts included 50% steers, 45% heifers, 5% bulls, with 27% of feeder cattle over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady to $1 lower, with demand good on lean cows. A total of 299 cows and bulls sold with 61% going to packers.
