Springfield livestock marketing salesThe Springfield Livestock Marketing Center, Springfield, Mo., reported receipts of 2,258 head April 2, compared to 2,896 head last week and 2,494 head last year, according to the Missouri Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Jefferson City, Mo. Compared to last week, steers under 550 pounds were $3 to $5 lower, 550 to 750 pounds were fully steady, over 750 pounds were $1 to $3 lower, Holsteins were $3 to $6 lower, exception few early sales under 450 pounds were steady, heifers were $1 to $3 lower. Demand was moderate to light, supply was moderate. The feeder supply included 32% steers, 17% Holsteins, 42% heifers, 9% bulls, with 47% over 600 pounds.
