Joplin cattle sales reportThe Joplin Regional Stockyards, Joplin, Mo., reported receipts of 7,350 head April 7, compared to 4,000 head last week and 6,694 head last year, according to the Missouri Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Jefferson City, Mo. Compared to last week, steers under 600 pounds were $1 to $4 lower, over 600 pounds were $1 to $2 higher, heifers were $1 to $4 lower, exception 600-pound heifers were steady. Demand was moderate to light, supply was moderate. The feeder supply included 49% steers, 41% heifers, 8% bulls, with 51% over 600 pounds.
