Huron cattle sales reportThe Bales Continental Commission Co., Huron, S.D., reported receipts of 3,069 head April 8, compared to 2,017 head last week, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to last week, feeder steers up to 700 pounds sold $3 to $4 lower, and feeder steers 700 pounds and up sold $1.50 to $3.50 higher. Feeder heifers sold steady to $2 higher. Demand was good with many load lots in the offering. Many good quality heifers went back out into the country for breeding. Steers comprised 53% of the run, heifers 47%, with 96% over 600 pounds.
