NEXT YEAR--There won't very many apples on Sandy Binder's farm this year, but she said that could mean a bumper crop next year. The trees have had a year off and will make up for it next year. (Journal photo by Doug Rich.)

EXTRA INCOME--Although Sandy Binder will not have any apples for sale this year, she will get some extra income from her alpaca flock. She said this has been a very good year for alpaca sales. In addition to selling breeding stock, binder harvests the fiber that is made into hats, gloves, and blankets which she sells from her farm. (Journal photo by Doug Rich.)
