Texhoma cattle sales reportThe Texhoma Livestock Auction, Texhoma, Okla., reported receipts of 1,002 head Sept. 29, compared to 1,193 head last week and 1,221 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were $1 lower. Steer and heifer calves were $2 to $3 lower. Demand was moderate for all classes. Weigh-ups were average to full. The supply included 73% steers, 22% heifers with 77% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were $2 lower. Slaughter bulls not well tested. A total of 144 cows and bulls sold with 65% to packers. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 349 lbs., 141.00; 462 to 499 lbs., 126.00 to 130.00 (128.33); 8 head, 517 lbs., 129.00; 19 head, 558 to 561 lbs., 120.00 to 125.00 (121.84); 3 head, 626 lbs., 121.00; 608 to 647 lbs., 115.00 to 121.00 (117.97) calves; 705 to 716 lbs., 116.50 to 118.00 (117.78); 5 head, 745 lbs., 110.50 calves; 775 to 786 lbs., 114.25 to 116.35 (116.18); 860 to 889 lbs., 103.00 to 112.00 (109.91).
