St. Joseph feeder pigs

The St. Joseph feeder pig auction, St. Joseph, Mo., reported receipts of 200 head Sept. 18, compared to 270 head last week and 212 head last year, according to the USDA-Missouri Department of Agriculture Market News, St. Joseph, Mo.

Compared to last week, feeder pigs under 60 pounds sold $7 to $13 lower, with 60- to 70-pound pigs sold steady to $5 lower. Demand very light as lower slaughter hog prices and corn harvest pressuring the market. Prices paid per head on actual weights.

U.S. 1 to 2: packages 32 lbs., 17.00; package 40 lbs., 17.00; 54 to 58 lbs., 17.00 to 20.00; 64 to 65 lbs., 26.00 to 30.00.
