Pratt livestock sales report

Pratt Livestock Sales Inc., Pratt, Kan., reported receipts of 2,325 head Sept. 13, compared to 1,839 head last week and 2,463 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and feeder heifers at 300 to 700 pounds were not enough for a market test but a steady undertone was noted. Feeder steers at 700 to 900 pounds were steady to $4 lower. Feeder heifers at 700 to 800 pounds were $1 lower. Trade was active demand good. Slaughter cows and bulls were $2 lower. Receipts included 77% 600 pounds and over, 16% 600 lbs., and under, 7% cows and bulls. The feeder supply included 55% steers and 45% heifers.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 32 head, 61.00 to 65.50 (62.99); low dressing, 55.00 to 58.00 (56.67).
