Lexington livestock sales

The Lexington Livestock Market, Lexington, Neb., reported receipts of 2,150 head Sept. 14, compared to 3,300 head last week and 2,800 head last year, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb.

Compared with two weeks ago, based on a limited test comparable offerings trended mostly steady. Demand was very good and trading was moderate to active. The total offerings consisted of 33% steers and 67% heifers, with 90% over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 468 to 492 lbs., 131.00 to 133.00 (132.76); 12 head, 524 lbs., 135.00; 27 head, 590 lbs., 132.00; 52 head, 631 lbs., 124.00; 825 to 849 lbs., 116.00 to 119.25 (118.85); 903 to 935 lbs., 111.50 to 113.50 (113.20); 24 head, 1029 lbs., 103.75. Medium and large frame 1 to 26 head, 544 lbs., 131.00; 15 head, 604 to 649 lbs., 119.00 to 126.25 (123.00); 668 to 686 lbs., 119.00 to 125.00 (124.08); 701 to 742 lbs., 121.00 to 123.50 (122.09); 6 head, 707 lbs., 118.00 full; 6 head, 759 lbs., 120.00 full; 807 to 818 lbs., 112.50 to 118.50 (114.86); 854 to 888 lbs., 112.75 to 114.00 (113.11).
