Dodge City livestock sales report
Dodge City Winter Livestock Inc., Dodge City, Kan., reported receipts of 3,179 head Sept. 12, compared to 2,268 head last week and 4,266 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared with last week, feeder steers at 300 to 600 pounds and heifers at 300 to 650 pounds were not enough for market test, but a steady undertone was noted. Steers at 600 to 750 pounds were steady to $1 lower, and 750 to 950 pounds were $1 to $2 lower. Heifers at 650 to 900 pounds were $3 to $5 lower. Slaughter cows were $1 to $2 lower. Slaughter bulls were weak. Trade and demand were moderate. Receipts included 84% 600 pounds and over, 12% 600 pounds and under, 4% slaughter cows and bulls with 125 head, early. The feeder supply included 54% steers and 46% heifers.
