Tulia livestock market reportThe Tulia Livestock Auction Inc., Tulia, Texas, reported receipts of 2,760 head Sept. 10, compared to 1,191 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture News-USDA Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to two weeks ago, feeder steers and heifers over 600 pounds were $1 to $3 higher, under 600 pounds limited test. Slaughter cows and bulls were $1 to $2 lower. Trade was active and demand good to very good. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 600- to 700-pound feeder steers and heifers. Feeder cattle accounted for 80% and slaughter cows and bulls 20% of the run. In the feeder supply, steers made up approximately 63% of the run, heifers 37%, steers and heifers over 600 pounds totaled 85%. Steers: Medium and large frame 1, 300 to 400 lbs., 140.00 to 146.50; 400 to 500 lbs., 130.00 to 138.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 114.00 to 121.00, load 576 lbs., 125.50; 600 to 700 lbs., 118.00 to 124.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 117.00 to 121.25; 800 to 900 lbs., 116.50 to 117.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 600 to 700 lbs., 110.00 to 116.25; 700 to 800 lbs., 114.00 to 119.00; 800 to 900 lbs., 105.00 to 108.50. Heifers: Medium and large frame 1, package 379 lbs., 117.50; 500 to 600 lbs., 107.00 to 115.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 110.00 to 117.00; pen 712 lbs., 110.00; load 808 lbs., 104.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, package 422 lbs., 116.50; 500 to 600 lbs., 104.00 to 109.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 105.00 to 111.00; load 704 lbs., 111.50. Medium and large frame 2 to 3, pen 775 lbs., 103.00. Slaughter cows: Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 1100 to 1300 lbs., 45.50 to 54.25. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 1000 to 1200 lbs., 44.00 to 47.75. Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 1320 to 1990 lbs., 57.00 to 62.00. Replacement cows: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, middle aged to aged, 900 to 1200 lbs., 3 to 7 months bred 560.00 to 810.00 per head. Date: 9/13/07
