Texhoma cattle sales report

The Texhoma Livestock Auction, Texhoma, Okla., reported receipts of 1,193 head Sept. 12, compared to 785 head last week and 249 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder steers were $1 to $2 lower, feeder heifers were steady to $2 lower. Limited test on steer and heifer calves. Demand is moderate for all classes. Fill average to full. The supply included 56% steers, 41% heifers with 90% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were $1 lower. Limited test on bulls. A total of 69 cows and bulls sold with 57% to packers.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 9 head, 460 to 472 lbs., 125.00 to 133.50 (131.57); 13 head, 517 to 544 lbs., 122.50 to 130.50 (125.64); 6 head, 575 lbs., 126.25; 62 head, 687 lbs., 122.25; 3 head, 656 lbs., 114.00 calves; 727 to 735 lbs., 117.50 to 118.25 (118.15); 59 head, 770 lbs., 117.00; 11 head, 789 lbs., 107.50 calves; 63 head, 840 lbs., 114.25. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 5 head, 588 lbs., 121.00; 147 head, 800 lbs., 115.75; 62 head, 895 lbs., 110.00. Medium and large frame 2, 32 head, 610 lbs., 119.25.

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 2, 8 head, 595 lbs., 105.50; 5 head, 666 lbs., 95.50 calves.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 409 lbs., 115.50; 4 head, 468 lbs., 115.50; 6 head, 567 lbs., 116.00; 5 head, 560 to 565 lbs., 112.00 fleshy; 12 head, 613 lbs., 113.50; 10 head, 679 lbs., 114.25; 11 head, 652 to 666 lbs., 108.00 to 110.50 (110.05) calves; 705 to 730 lbs., 111.00 to 112.50 (111.09); 52 head, 790 lbs., 109.75. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 29 head, 728 lbs., 110.50; 130 head, 757 lbs., 108.00.

Slaughter cows: Breakers, 7 head, 75 to 80% lean, 1400 to 1600 lbs., 52.50 to 53.50; low dressing, 46.50 to 48.75. Boners, 14 head, 80 to 85% lean, 950 to 1250 lbs., 50.50 to 53.00; high dressing, 54.00; low dressing, 46.50 to 49.00. Lean, 15 head, 85 to 90% lean, 875 to 1600 lbs., 50.50 to 53.50; high dressing, 54.50; low dressing, 47.00 to 49.00. Light, 3 head, 85 to 90% lean, 750 to 1050 lbs., 43.50 to 44.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 2 head, 1950 to 2000 lbs., 63.00; high dressing, 69.00.

Replacement cows: Medium and large frame 1, 6 to 7 years old, 1000 to 1200 lbs., 5 to 6 months bred, average blacks, 785.00 to 860.00.
