Presho feeder cattle sales
The Presho Livestock Auction, Presho, S.D., reported receipts of 2,187 head Sept. 6, compared to 1,148 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D. No trends were available as the last feeder auction was over a month ago. Mostly potloads were on hand. The heifer offerings were either pregnant, opened or spayed. The offering included 53% steers, 47% was heifers, with 96% over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 14 head, 335 lbs., 140.00; 24 head, 456 lbs., 129.50; 11 head, 761 lbs., 120.00; 805 to 847 lbs., 115.35 to 118.00 (116.52); 929 to 946 lbs., 112.25 to 113.85 (113.34); 955 to 988 lbs., 109.85 to 112.60 (111.69); 1000 to 1001 lbs., 109.00 to 111.35 (110.73); 14 head, 1087 lbs., 102.00. Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 14 head, 721 lbs., 114.75; 77 head, 796 lbs., 116.25; 820 to 823 lbs., 114.25 to 114.60 (114.55); 868 to 899 lbs., 111.00 to 113.00 (111.91); 905 to 939 lbs., 109.75 to 112.85 (111.51); 5 head, 953 lbs., 107.25. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 15 head, 734 to 735 lbs., 105.50 to 112.50 (110.16); 12 head, 781 to 792 lbs., 109.00 to 111.25 (110.13). Date: 9/13/07
