Georgia livestock summary auction report
The summary of Georgia cattle auctions for the week ending Sept. 7, totaled 10,598 head, compared to 14,367 head last week and 10,584 head last year, according to the USDA-Georgia Department of Agriculture Market News, Thomasville, Ga. Compared to one week ago, slaughter cows were steady to $1 higher, bulls were $1 higher, feeder steers were steady to $2 higher, heifers unevenly steady, steer calves were $1 to $2 higher, heifer calves were $1 to $3 higher, replacement cows were steady to $3 higher. The offering included 8% steers over 600 pounds, 36% steers under 600 pounds, 5% heifers over 600 pounds, 26% heifers under 600 pounds, 10% feeder cows, 12% slaughter cows and 1% bulls.
