Dodge City cattle sales
Receipts at Dodge City Winter Livestock Inc., Dodge City, Kan., reported receipts of 2,268 head Sept. 5, compared to 2,700 head last week and 781 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared to last week, feeder steers and feeder heifers at 300 to 600 pounds were not enough for a market test but a higher undertone was noted. Feeder steers at 600 to 950 pounds were $3 to $4 higher in a very light supply. Feeder heifers at 600 to 750 pounds were steady to $2 higher, 750 to 1000 pounds, no test in a very light supply. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 28 head, 497 lbs., 147.00; 20 head, 538 lbs., 131.00; 553 to 572 lbs., 126.50 to 129.00 (127.80); 603 to 628 lbs., 122.50 to 126.10 (124.47); 671 to 696 lbs., 118.75 to 121.50 (120.41); 28 head, 715 lbs., 121.25; 27 head, 769 lbs., 119.00; 811 to 821 lbs., 119.60 to 123.10 (122.05); 908 to 915 lbs., 114.00 to 115.25 (114.22). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 12 head, 663 to 685 lbs., 114.50 to 115.00 (114.66). Medium and large frame 2, 9 head, 648 lbs., 116.00; 5 head, 676 lbs., 110.00; 34 head, 801 lbs., 116.00; 59 head, 881 lbs., 108.60; 14 head, 915 lbs., 109.25.
