Colorado feeder cattle report
The Colorado Auction Feeder Cattle Summary, Greeley, Colo., reported receipts of 3,010 head Sept. 7, compared to 3,615 head last year, according to the USDA-Colorado Department of Agriculture Market News, Greeley, Colo. There was no recent comparison as this was the first weekly summary for the fall season. Demand was moderate to good, with best demand being for yearlings coming off of grass. The supply was made up of 82% feeder steers, the balance was feeder heifers, with about 61% of total supply over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 330 lbs., 146.00; 410 to 440 lbs., 134.00 to 137.00; 490 lbs., 135.00; 500 to 580 lbs., 124.00 to 129.00; 620 to 640 lbs., 122.00 to 124.50, calves 115.00 to 122.50; 650 to 660 lbs., 115.00 to 117.00, calves 112.00 to 117.00; 710 to 720 lbs., 114.00 to 120.50; 800 to 830 lbs., 115.50 to 116.50; 860 to 890 lbs., 112.00 to 114.00; 920 lbs., 112.25; 980 lbs., 101.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 480 lbs., 126.00; 590 lbs., 119.00; 650 lbs., 115.50; 830 lbs., 109.50; 940 lbs., 108.00; 970 lbs., 104.50. Feeder Holstein steers: Large frame 2 to 3, 260 lbs., 125.00; 330 lbs., 110.00.
