Woodward livestock auction report

The Woodward Livestock auction, Woodward, Okla., reported receipts of 5,640 head Aug. 31, compared to 5,087 head last week and 4,516 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder steers were steady except steers over 900 pounds were $1 to $2 higher. Feeder heifers were steady, over 800 pounds were $1 to $2 higher. Steer calves were steady. Heifer calves were $2 lower. Demand was good for feeders, moderate for calves. Fill was average to full, few gaunt. The supply included 68% steers, 27% heifers with 83% over 600 pounds.
