Texhoma cattle sales reportThe Texhoma Livestock Auction, Texhoma, Okla., reported receipts of 713 head Aug. 29, compared to 831 head last week and 382 head last year, according to the USDA to Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week, feeder steers were steady to $2 higher, steer calves were $2 higher. Feeder heifers and heifer calves were steady. Demand was good for all classes. Fill was average. The supply included 62% steers, 37% heifers with 74% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were $1 lower. Slaughter bulls were steady. A total of 143 cows and bulls sold with 46% to packers. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 3 head, 336 lbs., 156.00; 11 head, 391 to 399 lbs., 150.50 to 152.00 (151.17); 14 head, 435 lbs., 148.00; 464 to 468 lbs., 139.00 to 146.50 (144.09); 19 head, 513 to 540 lbs., 125.50 to 131.00 (127.37); 5 head, 578 lbs., 124.00; 9 head, 645 lbs., 115.50 calves; 9 head, 736 lbs., 119.50; 17 head, 774 lbs., 116.10; 826 to 830 lbs., 117.50 to 117.75 (117.73); 41 head, 893 lbs., 112.25; 908 to 910 lbs., 107.50 to 109.25 (109.13).
