Springfield dairy cattle saleThe Springfield Livestock Marketing Center, Springfield, Mo., reported receipts of 876 head Aug. 28, compared to 650 head last month and 705 head last year, according to the Missouri Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Jefferson City, Mo. This was a special dairy heifer sale. Compared to the last sale, demand was very good. The supply was moderate with 15% springer heifers, 20% bred heifers, 25% open heifers, 3% fresh and milking cows, 10% bred and springer cows, and 10% calves. Holsteins unless noted otherwise.
