South Central direct sheepThe South Central Direct Sheep sales report for the week ending Aug. 31, showed receipts of 1,900 feeder lambs, 500 slaughter lambs, 100 replacement ewes and 300 slaughter meat goats, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, San Angelo, Texas. Compared to last week, feeder lambs were $3 to $5 higher. Slaughter ewes, were not tested. Slaughter meat goats were steady. Trading and demand were moderate. Feeder lambs: Texas, 1900 head, Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 70 to 90 lbs., 100.00 to 102.00. Slaughter lambs: Texas, 500 head, Good and Choice 1 to 2, hair sheep 50 to 60 lbs., 100.00. Replacement ewes: Texas, 100 head, Medium and large frame 1 to 2, three year old whiteface 135 lbs., 90.00 per head. Slaughter meat goats: Texas, 300 head, Selection 1 to 2, 50 to 60 lbs., 98.00 to 100.00, mostly 98.00. Date: 9/6/07
