Pratt livestock sales reportPratt Livestock Sales Inc., Pratt, Kan., reported receipts of 2,590 head, Aug. 30, compared to 3,221 head, last week and 1,656 head, last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared to last week, feeder steers at 300 to 650 pounds were not enough for a market test but a higher undertone was noted, 650- to 950-pound steers were steady to $5 higher. Feeder heifers at 300 to 850 pounds were not enough for a market test but a steady undertone was noted. Trade was active, demand was good. Slaughter cows were steady. Slaughter bulls were $1 higher. Receipts included 90% 600 pounds and over, 6% 600 pounds and under, 4% cows and bulls. The feeder supply included 75% steers and 25% heifers.
