Hunting, fishing expo set for Sept. 8

Kansas

Outdoor enthusiasts from the area won't want to miss the first Hunting and Fish Expo slated for Sept. 8 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Big Brutus in West Mineral, Kan.

There will be plenty to see and do. More than 20 regional and national vendors will be on hand to share their favorite outdoor products and services. In addition to vendor booths, there will be an official Kansas Trophy Antler's scorer on hand. Starting at 9:15 a.m., there will be a bird dog training demonstration. And don't forget to bring your antique lures. There will be a free antique fishing lure appraisal on site.

There are activities for children too. Kids, ages 14 and under, can sign up to win a Ram Hunt, sponsored by Buck Brush Adventures, LLC of Cherryvale, Kan. For those interested in fishing, a kids' casting contest will be held.

Giveaways will happen every 30 minutes throughout the day, and concessions will be provided by Pig Pen and Spotted Bull.

Admission for the day-long outdoorsman extravaganza is only $5 for adults (13 to 64 years old); Seniors (65 and over) are $4.50; Children 6 to 12 are only $3.50. All kids under 5 years old are free.

For more information, contact Big Brutus, Inc., at 620-827-6177 or send an e-mail to bigbrutus@columbus-ks.com.
