High Plains weighted average direct slaughter cattle sales for the week ending Sept. 2, totaled 207,920 head, compared to 240,676 head last week and 233,409 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, St. Joseph, Mo. The report was based on sales in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa and Minnesota feedlots. Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 3,980 head, 1,100 to 1,475 lbs., 91.00 to 94.00 (93.27); 65 to 80% Choice, 10,332 head, 1,225 to 1,460 lbs., 90.50 to 95.50 (93.23); 35 to 65% Choice, 51,119 head, 1,125 to 1,450 lbs., 92.00 to 95.50 (94.59); 0 to 35% Choice, 7,723 head, 1,180 to 1,400 lbs., 93.00 to 95.50 (94.58).
