Dunlap cattle auction report
The Dunlap Livestock Auction, Dunlap, Iowa, reported receipts of 365 head Aug. 24, compared to 690 head last year, according to the Iowa Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Des Moines, Iowa. This was a special feeder cattle sale. There were many cancellations due to the heavy rains in the area and producers having trouble getting cattle out. There was no test due to the light run. Receipts included 56% feeder cattle over 600 pounds, 26% feeder heifers and 74% feeder steers. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 4 head, 295 lbs., 162.50 to 175.00 (168.75); 15 head, 352 to 364 lbs., 149.00 to 154.00 (150.96); 408 to 424 lbs., 150.00 to 152.75 (151.68); 2 head, 555 lbs., 127.50; 12 head, 624 lbs., 123.50; 14 head, 683 to 694 lbs., 124.25 to 124.50 (124.39); 715 to 745 lbs., 123.50 to 129.00 (125.69); 5 head, 817 lbs., 122.75; 21 head, 871 lbs., 117.00; 915 to 939 lbs., 113.00 to 116.00 (115.56). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 2 head, 395 lbs., 138.00; 4 head, 470 lbs., 129.50; 6 head, 623 to 644 lbs., 115.50 to 117.00 (115.99); 5 head, 740 lbs., 119.00; 5 head, 865 to 893 lbs., 103.50 to 107.75 (105.23). Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 1, 7 head, 355 lbs., 151.00; 8 head, 458 to 496 lbs., 130.00 to 136.00 (132.88); 2 head, 513 lbs., 126.00; 11 head, 565 to 576 lbs., 120.25 to 124.00 (120.92). Feeder Holstein steers: Large frame 3, 10 head, 343 lbs., 100.00; 2 head, 390 lbs., 100.00; 9 head, 452 lbs., 97.50.
