Arkansas cattle sales reportThe weekly summary of livestock sales in Arkansas for the week ending Aug. 30, reported estimated receipts of 9,655 head, compared to 9,376 head last week and 12,382 head last year, according to the Arkansas Extension Service-USDA Market News, Little Rock, Ark. Compared to last week, slaughter cows and bulls sold steady to $1 lower. Feeders sold unevenly ranging from $2 higher to $2 lower, averaging near steady. The supply was composed of 5,980 stocker and feeder calves, 2,300 feeder yearlings, 575 replacement cows, 690 slaughter cows, and 110 slaughter bulls. The feeder supply was 45% yearling heifers. Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1000 to 1500 lbs., 47.00 to 53.00; high dressing, 53.00 to 57.50. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 950 to 1400 lbs., 46.00 to 52.00; high dressing, 52.00 to 58.00; low dressing, 40.00 to 46.00. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 900 to 1300 lbs., 44.00 to 50.00; high dressing, 50.00 to 55.00; low dressing, 38.00 to 44.00. Light, 85 to 92% lean, 700 to 950 lbs., 35.00 to 43.00; low dressing, 31.50 to 35.00. Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 1000 to 2100 lbs., 59.00 to 66.50; high dressing, 66.50 to 74.00; low dressing, 50.00 to 59.00. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, english cross and english/exotic crosses, 300 to 350 lbs., 133.00 to 143.00 few sales to 168.00; 350 to 400 lbs., 128.00 to 138.00; 400 to 450 lbs., 123.00 to 133.00; 450 to 500 lbs., 117.00 to 127.00; 500 to 550 lbs., 112.00 to 122.00; 550 to 600 lbs., 109.00 to 119.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 106.00 to 116.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 104.00 to 114.00.
