Aberdeen cattle sales report
The Hub City Livestock Auction, Aberdeen, S.D., reported receipts of 3,317 head Sept. 5, compared to 2,127 head last week and 2,864 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared with last week, yearling steers and heifers sold mostly steady to $1 lower. This was the first sale of calves for this season, therefore trends were not applicable. Receipts included 50% steers, 46% heifers and 4% bulls, with 77% over 600 pounds.
