Watertown livestock sales

The South Dakota Livestock Sales, Watertown, S.D., reported receipts of 750 head Oct. 3, compared to 1,300 head last week, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Compared to last week, feeder steers were weak to $1 lower, while feeder heifers were $2 to $3 lower. The offering included 70% feeder steers and 30% feeder heifers, with 90% over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 18 head, 518 to 523 lbs., 123.50 to 128.00 (125.74); 653 to 677 lbs., 121.00 to 123.50 (122.08); 755 to 785 lbs., 118.00; 831 to 840 lbs., 115.75 to 116.00 (115.77); 917 to 944 lbs., 108.80 to 111.40 (110.51); 21 head, 956 lbs., 109.30; 1055 to 1067 lbs., 104.20; 35 head, 1180 lbs., 96.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 11 head, 492 lbs., 122.50; 20 head, 698 lbs., 118.75; 7 head, 855 lbs., 111.50. Medium frame 1 to 2, 6 head, 533 lbs., 111.00.

Feeder Holstein steers: Large frame 3, 9 head, 896 lbs., 84.50; 21 head, 925 lbs., 84.20; 10 head, 1004 lbs., 80.00.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 15 head, 418 to 433 lbs., 115.50 to 117.50 (116.45); 7 head, 483 lbs., 116.50; 52 head, 684 lbs., 112.25; 32 head, 789 lbs., 110.60; 12 head, 803 lbs., 106.75; 11 head, 852 lbs., 105.25; 15 head, 911 lbs., 101.25. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 15 head, 548 lbs., 110.00; 17 head, 790 lbs., 106.75; 11 head, 898 lbs., 98.00 fleshy; 8 head, 938 lbs., 98.00.
