Still time for women to enroll in business course

Nebraska

The date for the first class of Annie's Project--Women Managing Farm Information Course has been moved to Monday, Oct. 1. Successive classes will be on Oct. 8, 15, 22 and 29, and Nov. 7.

Classes will be held at the South Platte Natural Resource District Office in Sidney from 6 to 9 p.m. (MDT). Registration fee includes supper, class materials and ag computer software.

To register or for further information including cost of the course, please contact UNL Extension in Cheyenne County 308-254-4455 or toll free 1-866-865-1703. A brochure can be found at www.ckb.unl.edu. Registration deadline is Sept. 28.

Karen DeBoer and Carla Mahar, University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension Educators will coordinate and teach the classes, along with guest speakers who will share expertise on certain topics.

Previous participants have told course organizers that the classes were invaluable in helping them become more involved in the business aspects of farm and ranch operations. One woman said she wished this type of class had been available to her many years ago, so she would have had a better understanding of what her husband was talking about. Another young woman said she learned not only from the guest speakers, but also from shared experiences with the other women.
