Pratt livestock auction report

Pratt Livestock Sales Inc., Pratt, Kan., reported receipts of 1,608 head, Sept. 27, compared to 2,425 head, last week and 1,096 head, last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and feeder heifers at 300 to 700 pounds were not enough for market test but a steady undertone was noted. Feeder steers at 700 to 950 pounds and feeder heifers at 700 to 800 pounds were steady to $2 higher. Trade was active demand good. Slaughter cows were $4 lower. Slaughter bulls were $3 lower. Receipts included 81% 600 pounds and over, 13% 600 pounds and under, 6% cows and bulls. The feeder supply included 63% steers and 37% heifers.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 3 head, 238 lbs., 139.00; 15 head, 429 lbs., 133.00; 17 head, 529 lbs., 125.00; 700 to 750 lbs., 117.85 to 121.60 (119.47); 750 to 800 lbs., 115.85 to 117.00 (116.95); 800 to 850 lbs., 115.00 to 118.00 (116.89); 21 head, 855 lbs., 116.85; 900 to 950 lbs., 109.75 to 111.85 (111.32). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 13 head, 571 lbs., 116.00; 650 to 700 lbs., 115.00 to 117.00 (115.91); 700 to 750 lbs., 112.00 to 114.50 (113.66); 39 head, 810 lbs., 113.25. Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 10 head, 481 lbs., 112.00; 26 head, 587 lbs., 110.50; 600 to 650 lbs., 112.00 to 114.00 (112.61); 25 head, 692 lbs., 114.50; 700 to 750 lbs., 108.50 to 111.50 (110.76); 750 to 800 lbs., 108.50 to 109.85 (109.55). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 650 to 700 lbs., 108.25 to 110.00 (109.03). Medium and large frame 2, 6 head, 519 lbs., 105.00; 7 head, 630 lbs., 104.50; 9 head, 663 lbs., 106.50. Medium frame 2 to 3, 15 head, 504 lbs., 95.00; 12 head, 628 lbs., 95.00.

Baby calves: Per head, 2 head, 200.00 to 230.00 (215.00).

Feeder cows and heiferettes: 24 head, 70.00 to 90.00 (82.88).

Slaughter cows: Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 48.00 to 53.00; low dressing, 42.00 to 47.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 8 head, 60.00 to 62.00 (60.75); low dressing, 6 head, 57.00 to 58.00 (57.33).
