Lexington livestock reportThe Lexington Livestock Market, Lexington, Neb., Sept. 28, reported receipts of 1,750 head, compared to 2,150 head last sale and 2,000 head last year, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb. Compared to two weeks ago, feeder heifers sold $1 to $2 higher and steers sold steady on a very light test. Steer and heifer calves sold with a lower undertone. Demand was good to very good for all classes of yearling feeder cattle. Demand was mostly light to moderate for preconditioned bawling calves. The offering consisted of 70% heifers, 30% steers, with nearly 77% over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 463 to 466 lbs., 132.00 to 133.25 (133.05); 26 head, 512 lbs., 125.25; 557 to 598 lbs., 120.00 to 121.25 (120.55); 22 head, 626 lbs., 118.00 calves; 10 head, 785 lbs., 120.50; 145 head, 896 lbs., 116.60. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 11 head, 402 to 445 lbs., 122.00 to 130.00 (126.70); 15 head, 476 to 483 lbs., 128.50; 5 head, 701 lbs., 117.50; 43 head, 774 lbs., 116.50; 17 head, 838 lbs., 114.50; 11 head, 889 lbs., 105.00; 16 head, 931 lbs., 109.50.
