Iowa Ag Statistics book available from Farm Bureau

Iowa

How big is the "average" Iowa farm today? What is the value of livestock production to your community? How much rain fell in your area last year? That information and more is available in the 2007 edition of the Iowa Agricultural Statistics book, available through the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation.

The book includes 2006 government data on Iowa grain and livestock production, commodity prices, farmland values and weather information. Additional information covers forage production, farm numbers, county-by-county agricultural production, and grain and meat export data.

Information in the 139-page book is compiled by Iowa Agricultural Statistics, a division of the National Agricultural Statistics Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture. It is divided into five sections: general information, county information, crops, livestock, and receipts and prices. The booklet also contains a listing of several websites pertaining to agriculture.

The Iowa Farm Bureau publishes the book for Iowa Agricultural Statistics. No public funds are used to publish the book.

The book costs $11 and can be ordered from the Marketing and Communications Division, Iowa Farm Bureau, 5400 University Avenue, West Des Moines, IA 50266. Checks should be made out to the Iowa Farm Bureau. All books from previous years have been sold.
