Goldthwaite sheep salesThe Mills County Commission Co., Goldthwaite, Texas. Sept. 28, reported receipts of 2,587 head of sheep and goats, compared to 3,301 head last week and 3,096 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, stocker and feeder lambs were not tested. Light slaughter lambs were $3 to $5 lower, heavy weights were not tested. Stocker and feeder goats were $5 to $10 lower. Slaughter goats were $5 to $10 lower. Demand was moderate. The supply included around 40% sheep including nearly 400 lambs. Prices per CWT unless specified. Stock and feeder: Dorper ewes, 80 to 120 lbs., 50.00 to 86.00. Dorper bucks, 160.00 to 200.00 per head. Barbados bucks, 100.00 to 250.00 per head. Slaughter lambs: Good and Choice 1 to 3, 50 to 80 lbs., 95.00 to 112.00, few to 116.00. Good, 50 to 80 lbs., 80.00 to 90.00. Slaughter ewes, Utility 1 to 3, medium flesh, few 135 lbs., 32.50. Barbados, lambs, 50 to 75 lbs., 80.00 to 90.00. Ewes, few 80 to 85 lbs., 44.00. Slaughter goats: Kids, Selection 1, 40 to 60 lbs., 95.00 to 106.00; 60 to 80 lbs., 90.00 to 104.00. Selection 2, 60 to 80 lbs., 90.00 to 95.00. Nannies, Selection 1, 90 to 130 lbs., 34.00 to 48.00. Billies, 90 to 200 lbs., 70.00 to 84.00. Muttons, Selection 1, 90 to 125 lbs., 87.00 to 95.00.
