Dalhart livestock sales newsThe Cattleman's Livestock Auction, Dalhart, Texas, reported receipts of 2,714 head Sept. 27, compared to 4,012 head last week and 1,914 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture Market News to USDA Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were mostly $2 to $4 lower, few lots of reputation natives sold weak to $2 lower. Slaughter cows were $2 lower. Not enough slaughter bulls on offer last week for market comparison. Trade and demand were moderate. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 350- to 800-pound feeder steers and heifers. Feeder cattle accounted for 86% and slaughter cows and bulls 14%. In the feeder supply, steers made up approximately 51% of the run, heifers 49%, steers and heifers over 600 pounds totaled 36%.
