Colorado feeder cattle report

The Colorado Auction Feeder Cattle Summary, Greeley, Colo, Sept. 28, reported receipts of 5,480 head, compared to 3,540 head last week and 5,635 head last year, according to the USDA-Colorado Department of Agriculture Market News, Greeley, Colo.

Compared to last week, steer and heifer calves were steady to $2 higher. Yearlings were mostly steady on remaining supplies offered. Demand was moderate to good. The supply was made up of 59% feeder steers, the balance was feeder heifers, with about 60% of total supply weighed over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 310 to 340 lbs., 139.00 to 143.00; 350 to 380 lbs., 140.00 to 142.00; 400 to 440 lbs., 117.00 to 133.00; 450 to 490 lbs., 113.00 to 129.50; 500 to 540 lbs., 114.50 to 124.00; 550 to 590 lbs., 109.00 to 119.00; 600 to 635 lbs., 114.00 to 115.00, calves 110.00 to 120.00; 650 to 700 lbs., 109.00 to 114.50, calves 105.00 to 116.00; 700 to 730 lbs., 109.00 to 119.00, calves 105.50 to 110.00; 770 to 790 lbs., 113.50 to 116.00; 810 to 840 lbs., 107.85 to 115.50; 860 to 890 lbs., 110.00 to 114.75; 900 to 925 lbs., 105.00 to 110.50, fancy 109.00 to 110.00; 970 to 980 lbs., 104.00 to 109.00; 1000-1080 lbs., 100.50 to 105.25.
