Woodward livestock auction report

The Woodward Livestock Auction, Woodward, Okla., reported receipts of 7,552 head Oct. 19, compared to 6,192 head last week and 1,880 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last year, feeder steers were steady to $2 lower, except those at 650 pounds were $5 lower. Feeder heifers were steady to $1 lower. Steer calves were steady to $2 lower. Heifer calves under 450 pounds were steady, heavier weights were $1 to $3 lower. Demand was moderate for all classes. Weigh-ups were average to full. The supply included 54% steers, 42% heifers with 71% over 600 pounds.
