Watertown feeder cattle sales

The South Dakota Livestock Sales, Watertown, S.D., reported receipts of 775 head Oct. 24, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Compared to two weeks ago, feeder cattle over 800 pounds were steady to $1 higher. No comparison was available for lighter feeders from two weeks ago. Feeder steers made up 75% of the sale, feeder heifers made up 25%, with 68% over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 14 head, 403 to 438 lbs., 128.00 to 129.50 (129.10); 8 head, 464 lbs., 125.00; 551 to 564 lbs., 114.00 to 118.00 (116.06); 15 head, 606 lbs., 114.25 calves; 655 to 699 lbs., 111.35 to 115.75 (112.56) calves; 27 head, 854 lbs., 113.75; 916 to 946 lbs., 107.50 to 109.50 (109.41); 62 head, 953 lbs., 109.50; 17 head, 1006 to 1016 lbs., 104.80 to 106.50 (105.20); 7 head, 1073 lbs., 99.50; 11 head, 1150 lbs., 91.25. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 518 to 519 lbs., 115.00 to 116.00 (115.74); 18 head, 586 lbs., 109.00 to 113.50 (112.25); 6 head, 799 lbs., 105.50; 7 head, 970 lbs., 94.50; 7 head, 1077 lbs., 87.75; 13 head, 1185 lbs., 86.25. Medium frame 1 to 2, 10 head, 571 lbs., 91.00.

Feeder Holstein steers: Large frame 3, 25 head, 546 lbs., 83.25; 7 head, 735 lbs., 84.50; 800 to 817 lbs., 81.75 to 82.75 (82.03); 7 head, 910 lbs., 80.25; 22 head, 989 lbs., 81.50.
