Tulsa livestock market reportThe Tulsa Stockyards, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 2,878 head Oct. 22, compared to 3,524 head last week and 4,698 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Jefferson City, Mo. Compared to last week, steer calves and few feeder steers were steady to $2 lower. Heifer calves and few feeder heifers were steady to $3 lower. Weigh-ups were average, few full. Conditions were thin to average, with some fleshy calves. Demand was good on better cattle, with good attendance of buyers. Receipts included 49% steers, 42% heifers, 9% bulls, with 22% of feeder cattle over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows and bulls were mostly steady. Lean cows making up the bulk of supply. A total of 434 cows and bulls sold with 50% going to packers.
