Presho cattle sales reportThe Presho Livestock Auction, Presho, S.D., reported receipts of 1,200 head Oct. 18, compared to 1,220 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D. Trends were not applicable as this was the first calf sale of the season. Receipts were cut because of the more than two inches of rain in the area. Few potloads on offer, 60% of run was steers, 40% heifers, with 14% of offering 600 pounds and over. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 465 to 474 lbs., 133.25 to 136.25 (134.52); 509 to 547 lbs., 123.00 to 130.50 (125.07); 503 to 548 lbs., 134.50 to 135.00 (134.55) fancy; 564 to 599 lbs., 116.75 to 121.75 (118.69); 620 to 649 lbs., 115.25 to 119.00 (118.50) calves. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 20 head, 363 lbs., 137.50; 6 head, 442 lbs., 125.00; 80 head, 452 to 487 lbs., 119.25 to 124.25 (123.72); 50 head, 514 lbs., 119.50. Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 9 head, 351 to 357 lbs., 127.00 to 128.00 (127.44); 411 to 444 lbs., 116.00 to 120.50 (118.20); 471 to 492 lbs., 115.00 to 118.25 (116.48); 502 to 545 lbs., 113.25 to 116.00 (114.54); 10 head, 573 lbs., 113.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 19 head, 338 lbs., 135.50; 5 head, 580 lbs., 110.25. Cows: Medium and large frame 1, 17 head, 1109 lbs., 1200.00 per head bred; 9 head, 1452 lbs., 1250.00 per pair.
