Lexington livestock sales
The Lexington Livestock Market, Lexington, Neb., reported receipts of 1,100 head Oct. 19, compared to 2,300 head last week and 1,600 head last year, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb. Compared to last week, based on a very limited test, comparable offerings trended $3 lower. Demand and trade activity were light to moderate. Feeder receipts consisted of 67% steers and 33% heifers with 26% of the total weighing over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 4 head, 312 lbs., 147.00; 4 head, 367 lbs., 142.00; 25 head, 419 lbs., 140.50; 456 to 468 lbs., 132.00 to 134.75 (133.67); 501 to 511 lbs., 127.25 to 128.50 (128.14); 562 to 573 lbs., 120.00 to 122.50 (121.24); 14 head, 641 lbs., 112.25; 606 to 642 lbs., 114.85 to 115.50 (115.19) calves; 26 head, 651 lbs., 116.25 calves; 45 head, 755 lbs., 110.25 fleshy. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 413 to 415 lbs., 135.00 to 139.75 (137.38); 457 to 483 lbs., 125.00 to 130.00 (127.23); 508 to 541 lbs., 118.10 to 122.50 (119.37); 553 to 595 lbs., 110.25 to 117.00 (114.21); 21 head, 667 lbs., 111.25 calves. Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 4 head, 410 lbs., 129.00; 11 head, 466 lbs., 118.00; 517 to 536 lbs., 112.50 to 116.00 (113.55); 12 head, 621 lbs., 102.75 fleshy; 26 head, 722 lbs., 100.00 fleshy.
