FSA announces MILCX deadline for dairy producers

Kansas

Bill R. Fuller, State Executive Director of the USDA Kansas Farm Service Agency announced today that dairy producers participating in the Milk Income Loss Contract Extension program have until Nov. 1 to provide their production records.

To receive benefits, dairy producers with approved MILCX contracts must provide milk production evidence and supporting documentation by Nov. 1, for months where a payment rate was in effect.

The MILCX program was applicable Oct. 1, 2005 through Sept. 30. Payment rates were in effect as follows:

--Fiscal Year 2006: December 2005; January through September 2006

--Fiscal Year 2007: October through December 2006; January and February 2007.

Many dairy producers have already provided their milk production records and received their benefits. Producers with a MILCX contract may contact their local FSA county office to verify whether they have provided all records necessary to receive payments. There is a production limitation of 2.5 million pounds per fiscal year.
