Ericson livestock report
The Ericson Spalding Livestock Auction, Ericson, Neb., reported receipts of 2,600 head Oct. 20, compared to 2,900 head last week and 3,200 head last year, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb. Compared to last week, spring calves trended predominantly steady, with good demand noted for a short list of yearlings. Cattle quality was average to good, with most consignments of calves having received preconditioning vaccinations. Receipts consisted of 50% steers, 50% heifers, with 40% over 600 pounds.
