Dunlap cattle auction report
The Dunlap Livestock Auction, Dunlap, Iowa, reported receipts of 808 head Oct. 19, compared to 2,727 head two weeks ago and 1,290 head last year, according to the Iowa Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Des Moines, Iowa. This was a special feeder cattle sale. Demand was moderate for mixed quality cattle. Compared to two weeks ago the market was $2 to $4 lower. Receipts included 43% feeder cattle over 600 pounds, 45% heifers and 55% steers. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 18 head, 373 to 398 lbs., 134.00 to 138.50 (136.47); 3 head, 412 lbs., 126.00; 490 to 498 lbs., 126.00 to 128.00 (127.28); 505 to 515 lbs., 120.50 to 125.50 (122.19); 554 to 598 lbs., 118.00 to 128.50 (122.96); 632 to 648 lbs., 113.50 to 119.00 (116.41) calves; 27 head, 753 lbs., 116.25. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 12 head, 355 to 378 lbs., 115.00 to 130.00 (122.67); 9 head, 410 to 420 lbs., 110.00 to 118.00 (113.41); 15 head, 473 to 482 lbs., 113.00 to 121.50 (120.39); 6 head, 620 to 630 lbs., 105.50 to 110.00 (107.73) calves; 14 head, 661 to 683 lbs., 110.00; 19 head, 725 lbs., 113.40; 33 head, 830 lbs., 106.75 fleshy; 16 head, 893 lbs., 103.00. Medium and large frame 2, 5 head, 547 lbs., 95.00.
