Aberdeen cattle sales report
The Hub City Livestock Auction, Aberdeen, S.D., reported receipts of 4,507 head Oct. 24, compared to 2,753 head last week and 5,047 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to last week, feeder steers and light calves sold $2 to $3 lower. Yearling heifers and light calves sold mostly $1 higher. Demand was good. Steers comprised 60% of the run, heifers 40%. The supply included 44% over 600 pounds.
