Texhoma cattle auction reportThe Texhoma Livestock Auction, Texhoma, Okla., reported receipts of 2,601 head Oct. 17, compared to 1,239 head last week and 1,693 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week, feeder steers were steady to $2 lower. Feeder heifers were $1 lower. Steer calves were steady to $1 higher. Heifer calves were steady to $2 higher. Demand was good for calves, moderate for feeders. Fill was average to full. The supply included 75% steers, 22% heifers with 57% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were steady to $1 lower. Slaughter bulls were steady. A total of 174 cows and bulls sold with 74% to packers.
